  1. Be respectful! The wardens have a job to do and we have an obligation to respect that. But protect yourself in the meantime.

  2. Present your fishing license and then keep your mouth shut. Every utterance that you make will come back to you when you go to see the District Attorney to receive your plea deal. It is possible that there is nothing to charge you with unless you give the warden the informaiton that they're looking for. Don't mistake a friendly conversation for anything but a way to incriminate yourself.

  3. If you feel intimidated or like you are being treated unfairly call the non emergency line of the local law enforcement agency to ask for a uniformed officer to come and help. The confrontation can escalate quicky and having someone on you side might be a good option.

  4. Start mentally preparing for your defense when you get to court, keep your eyes open and stay observant. Your word won't go far once you get to the courtroom. Write down everything you can during and after the confrontation so that you have notes for your lawyer to reference when you negotiate your punishment with the District Attorney.
